Student Paper Competition

Students and recent post-docs are invited to submit a journal article (8000 word limit) based on their PhD or MSc research here.  The ESRS 2015 scientific committee will select the best paper, and work with the author to develop it for publication in Sociologia Ruralis.  The winner will also receive a scholarship to cover the cost of the congress fee, field trip, congress dinner and accommodation in Aberdeen (en suite university accommodation).  Full papers are due by 1st May 2015.

If students wish for their paper to appear in the congress proceedings, they should upload a separate two page paper to the congress proceedings.  Similarly, if they wish to apply for an MDT access scholarship, they should upload a separate two page paper to the access scholarship competition.  As the outcome of the competitions will not be known until late June, students wishing to benefit from early bird registration should register before 1st May 2015.  Students who are unable to attend if they do not win the prize, should not register. Please note that the competition is solely based on the academic quality of the paper. If the winner of the competition has already registered, the registration fees and accommodation costs will be refunded in full.
