Accommodation

We have arranged for 76 en suite rooms (£45 or approx. €60 per night), and several hundred regular rooms (£33 or approx. €45 per night) to be available to congress delegates. These are located at the University of Aberdeen, and are near a direct bus route to the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre, where the congress is being held. These will be available on a first come, first served basis, as part of the registration process.

On campus accommodation at the University of Aberdeen is available, in Crombie and Hillhead Halls of Residence – although it is not included in the registration package you can book on campus accommodation via the registration site.  Accommodation is 2 star standard and a range of en-suite and standard rooms are available. Rooms are available in Crombie Halls within King's Campus and at the Hillhead Student Village.  Both are similar distances to the AECC, but the King’s Campus location is also very close to the Opening Ceremonies venues, and much closer to local bus services; we recommend that you select King’s Campus as your first choice when registering. Rooms in both locations are light with pleasing views of the surrounding grounds.

Registration for this university accommodation will be through the electronic registration system for the whole congress (i.e. when you register to pay your fees, select field trip etc you will also have the opportunity to register for the university accommodation, which is accessible on a first-come first served basis).

In addition a booking site has been set up with a wider range of hotel accommodation for those attending the conference. We also recommend the Premier Inn Aberdeen City Centre hotel, which is close to the bus route and city centre. There are also two on-site hotels at the AECC, the Holiday Inn Exhibition Centre, and the Holiday Inn Express Exhibition Centre. To view alternative hotels or other types of accommodation, e.g. Bed and Breakfast establishments please use the Visit Scotland website. The congress is being held at the end of the week (Tuesday through Friday) to take advantage of the much cheaper Friday and weekend rates offered at Aberdeen hotels.  If you are considering prolonging your stay in Scotland, please check out the weekend hotel rates, which are often less than a third of mid-week prices.

Please note:

·     Accommodation is subject to availability and will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

·     As we have a group booking we will release any unallocated rooms by the 1st July 2015.  After that time we cannot guarantee the hotel will have availability or be able to honor the course rate.

·     Hotels in Aberdeen book up early, so in order to avoid paying more for your accommodation we advise you to book as far in advance as possible

After 1st July, we can no longer hold accommodation therefore please phone +44(0)1224 274005 to be put through to our accommodation office where you can book separately.  Please remember to quote ESRS 2015.
